ARTIST: TA'RAACH & THE LOVELUTION
RELEASE: THE FEVERS
STREET DATE: JANUARY 30, 2007
FORMATS: 2XLP / CD

Raised and bred in Detroit, Michigan, Ta’Raach, p/k/a Lacks, takes his music seriously; Love always Prospers when he lends a hand. Never compromising and always innovating, this veteran (a decade and some change in the game) is a triple threat with lyrics, beats and vocals. Ta’Raach has worked with a host of notables inside and out of Motor City between Dwele to J Dilla, Carl Craig to Elzhi (of Slum Village), Waajeed to Amp Fiddler. Nowadays, in between showcasing his talent behind the decks, making beats and dropping lyrics for the likes of Platinum Pied Pipers, Dabrye, As One (Kirk Degiorgio), and Exile, he’s making sure that the LOVELUTION will be televised.

Readying his Sound In Color (SIC) release “The Fevers,” Ta’Raach mans the boards, production, MC duties, and songwriting with true Rock City finesse. Add to the mix, stellar collaborations with hometown brethren Big Tone, Amp Fiddler, and Fuzz Scoota, rising MC star Blu, as well as new schoolers J Mitchell, The Beloved, and Cashius King. Be sure to get your health up, ‘cos your sure to catch a case of “The Fevers!”

PRESS

”Great Detroit hip hop from the man formerly known as Lacks. Although he is only 28, Ta'Raach has had a busy career already, touring the world with Carl Craig and the Innerzone Orchestra, starting the Breakfast Club with Dwele, Big Tone and Slum Village's Elzhi (which led to his work on JayDees Welcome 2 Detroit LP) and of course the ace Lacks LP a couple of years ago...”
– Fat City Records UK

”The artist formerly known as Lacks (and before that, the more colorful Lacks-a-daisy-cal) is now Ta'Raach. After building up his reputation in Detroit as a go to MC for the likes of Jay-Dee (Welcome 2 Detroit) and Platinum Pied Pipers (PPP), Ta'Raach moved out to L.A. to display not only his raps, but his passion: the beats...”
– KSD Music

”The production by Ta'raach is complex cool; I've been listening to the instrumentals for a couple days straight, and it still pops my head.”
– Turntable Lab

'Lights Out' feat. Ta'Raach & Georgia is a nice punch to the dome, and really leaves you
wanting to hear more. Get hip, because this is what you will be seeing in the upcoming years. I'm telling you now, these cats are on it.
– Amazon.com

”There's a plethora of some of the most sought-out MCs out there today, including Wildchild, Doom, Vast Aire, Kadence, AG, Waajeed, Ta'Raach and Jay dee. And all these artists meld with Dabrye's unconventional beats in perfect harmony, neither overpowering the other, creating an entirely new hip hop sound. Nite East Day with Beans and Pressure with Waajeed and Ta'Raach are also both exceedingly fresh…”
– Incus Hip Hop / Electronica Review

Guest include MC Lacks (formerly Lacksidaisical, Elevator Music, and also known as Ta’Raach) has released records on Carl Craig’s hip hop sub-label Antidote, and recorded for Earth Angel and Groove Attack records. He has collaborated with Jaydee, Dwelle, Slum Village, Platinum Pied Pipers, and Sol Uprising and was therefore an obvious choice to appear on two of the album tracks (As One – Out of The Darkness).
– Family Affair Italy

”Ta’Raach, who is one of my favorite emcees because his style is so neat, nobody does it the way he does.”
– One Cypher Online Magazine (Aloe Blacc Interview / June 2006)

”Inspired by Dabrye’s collabo with hip-hop’s latest fallen hero, and the godfather of the Detroit underground scene, J Dilla, on “Game Over” (the first cut recorded for the album), Two/Three is replete with guest appearances, and Ann Arbor’s sister city represents heavily with Phat Kat,
Ta’Raach, and Platinum Pied Pipers’ beatsmith Waajeed”
– Cool Hunting NY

”I'm digging MCs like Ta'raach, Sadat X and Bahamadia a lot at the moment; all heavyweights for sure!”
– Mark de Clive-Lowe

“Detroit talents like Invincible MC, Guilty Simpson, Ta'Raach, Paradime and Big Tone seem hungrier than ever on this project! Every line is on point, with an undeniable aggressive edge to it! You gotta love that?”
– SoundNexx

“Welcome 2 Detroit was originally designed to consist of nothing but break-beats and instrumentals, but much to his fans" pleasure, he added some serious lyrical fire, courtesy of himself and a number of Detroit"s finest, including Beel, Hodge Podge, Lacks and the always-flamboyant Phat Kat.
– The Michigan Daily

”…a full-length album titled "RE:Lacks // Vol. 1 With The World" from former Breakfast Club member Lacks. The project contains a collection of songs produced by Lacks himself from the late 90s, except "Jeed Demo #1" produced by Waajeed. This album takes us back to the classic Detroit "street soul" sound reminiscent of Slum Village's "Fantastic Vol. 2". The stand out tracks on the disc include "Reciprocity" & "Star Of The Story", and if you check out the hidden tracks, you'll be treated to a joint called "Is It??" with the whole Breakfast Club collective.”
– The Cyberkrib (Canada)
